Centro de Capoeira Angola Filhos de Dunga invites you to our 2025 International Conference, "Fruta Madura Que Deu Semente - Dois Grão-Mestres".

THE REUNION OF THE CENTURY!

The event will reunite two grand Mestres of Capoeira, Mestre João Grande (NYC) and Mestre Dunga (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) for the first time in 38 years. In addition, we will be joined by Mestra Andrea (FICA - Oakland), as well as Mestre Fantasma (Porto, Portugal).  

Moreover, we will host the "Guardians of African-Brazilian Culture in the United States of America" recognition ceremony, which will be presented by representatives of the United States of America, Brazil and Mozambique to several Mestres and Mestras of the art.

The event also will feature the presence of other Mestres from the USA and abroad. 

The event will take place in Brooklyn, NY at:

The tentative schedule for the event is as follows:

Friday, October 10th: 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm (Welcome/Opening Roda)

Saturday, October 11th: 9:30 am to 8:00 pm

Sunday, October 12th: 9:30 am to 5:00 pm

We were able to subsidize our costs by receiving sponsorship for the event and are able to offer lower prices while still compensating our visiting mestres and teachers. 

Whole Weekend - $100 (T-Shirt included) 

Friday only - Donation for Roda

Saturday only - $60 (T-Shirt included)

Sunday only - $60 (T-Shirt included)

Our goal is for this event to be accessible to all; there will be a space to request a scholarship in the form.

PS: All proceedings will be destinated to support our old Mestres.
